Special cover from Japan. This cover's got the 2013 Japanese issue on Taj Mahal. Japan Post issued a souvenir sheet depicting world heritage sites on October 23rd 2013. One of the stamps from the sheet also depicts India's very beautiful Taj Mahal. Here's the stamp up-close.

This is not the fist time that Japan Post has issued a stamp commemorating Taj Mahal. There are two more that were released earlier in 2002 and 2007. Here's the cover. Great addition to my collection.

Christmas Mail 2013 - 11

This lovely Christmas cover from Japan came in today too. I like it a lot. Its got part of a souvenir sheet titled “Greetings – Winter”.
Japan Postal Corporation issued these sets of stamps “Greetings – Winter” to be used on Christmas and New Year greeting cards. The stamps issued in two souvenir sheets feature snowmen dolls on the first and Christmas decorations: snow jewelry (sapphire, emerald, aquamarine, peridot and ruby), glass pairs, candles and candle reindeer stand on the second. I must get my hands on both these sheets.

A cover from Japan. Everything great about the cover, except the fact that the large stamp on the right is damaged. There is a tear on the stamp. Surely the torn stamp was stuck on cover. Sender should've used another stamp. There are two good stamps on the cover thankfully and all the cancellations are very clear.

One more from Japan. The cancellations that you get on these Japanese covers are really unique. This one that I received, got two stamps, both depicting Penguins. The cover was posted on 8.2.2013 and I received it yesterday.

Christmas Mail 2012 - 12

Beautiful beautiful stamps from Japan. This is a complete set of self adhesive greeting stamps from Japan. All of them on cover. Just love the set. And I also received the sheet along with. Thanks a lot Masahiko.

Its always an absolute delight when I receive stamps that fit into both my topical stamps collection interests of Christmas and Odd shapes. I must get down to making a list of such sets and stamps soon. For now though for another such set of stamps check out Christmas - Malta stamps from earlier.
