I am an avid collector of postage stamps, miniature sheets, FDCs and covers addressed to me from across the world, an accumulator and hoarder of stamps. It is my attempt here to show you all of my collection in the posts that I'll add and update regularly. I hope to add more to the collection in the process, interact with you other collectors out there and share thoughts and information about anything and everything related.

Steel Foil Stamps - Bhutan

Bhutan post issued a set of 12 stamps on 2nd June 1969, depicting the history of steel making. The 7 stamps from the set are a great addition to my collection of Unusual stamps. The designs of these self-adhesive stamps are lithographed on steel foil.

Round shaped embossed stamps

Of countries that have issued odd shaped stamps, Bhutan has loads of them from all kinds of shapes to 3D, holograms and even material other than paper. Thus far I have been able to get hold of only a fraction of these and here are some round shaped stamps from 1975.

The entire set consists of 9 stamps issued on King Jigme Singye Wangchuk’s 20th birthday. Ive got six here. The missing ones are the 1 Nu, 2 Nu and 3 Nu emerald colored stamps.

A similar set of 9 stamps was also issued in 1966.

Bhutan

This is my first post on stamps of countries other than India. I am starting with Bhutan here and these are all the stamps of Bhutan I have, mostly miniature sheets though. I love the stamps of this country simply because of the variety, colour and shapes that they come in. I am thinking of collecting, having in my collection all of the Bhutan releases to date. Will see how that goes and hope I get there sooner than later.

All the stamps here are arranged in order of the date and year of issue, reference Scott catalogue 2008, Vol. 1. My first stamp of Bhutan is Scott No. 120, 3 ch deep red lilac, from the 1971-72 releases depicting the Wangdiphodrang Dzong and Bridge.
