This is a blog of my personal stamps and covers collection. I am an avid collector of postage stamps, miniature sheets, FDCs and covers addressed to me from across the world, an accumulator and hoarder of stamps. It is my attempt here to show you all of my collection in the posts that I'll add and update regularly. I hope to add more to the collection in the process, interact with you other collectors out there and share thoughts and information about anything and everything related.

Cover - Belize, Country #111
I don't know what to say of this cover, but, its a new country added to my collection. This is my first ever cover from Belize. The stamps are nice and the cancellations are quite clean. Not bad over all, I think.

Kenya, Uganda and Tanganyika (Tanzania)
From 1903 joint issues were made for British East Africa (later Kenya) and Uganda. In 1933 the postal administrations of Kenya, Uganda and Tanganyika were combined.
On independence of the constituent territories in the 1960s the postal administration became the East Africa Posts and Telecommunications Corporation. As well as separate issues for each state, joint commemorative issues (which however were not valid in Zanzibar) were made until the dissolution of the corporation in 1977.

A French colony in W. Africa on the gulf of Guinea incorporated in French West Africa in 1944. In 1958 it became an autonomous republic within the French community and in 1960 it became fully independent.

Odd Shaped Sheet - Botswana - White Rhinoceros 2011
Botswana Post launched these stamps illustrated by local artist, Jacob Disele on November 21st 2011. The stamps depict white rhinos and are endorsed by the World Wildlife Fund, WWF.
"The white rhino is being ruthlessly hunted for its horn, which is believed to have medicinal properties and also for use as decoration for daggers and swords in Asia and Middle East." said the CEO at Botswana Post during the launch. He mentioned that they have also recognised the need to preserve the white rhinoceros and its habitat, by coming up with the stamp issue. The idea is to sensitise the public and the entire world about the threatened, extra- ordinary animal, which has been mercilessly hunted and killed.

Odd Shaped Sheet - South Georgia and South Sandwich Islands
This one is by far my favourite. A set of four stamps along with this minisheet was issued in 2008 depicting the chinstrap penguins, an easily identified species of the islands. The sheet is large and measures 140 x 198 mm. This is my only set of stamps or a sheet of this island territory. The territory previously had been governed as part of the Falkland Islands Dependencies. Under the new constitution, effective 3 October 1985, South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands ceased to be dependencies of Falkland Islands.

Cover - Egypt, Country #109
This is great. I was making a list of the number of countries I have covers from and while I found that I had numbered many of them incorrectly on the blog, I also found that I hadn't yet put on count, covers I'd received from Egypt. Another number added to the list.
