The five stamps designs feature festive family traditions from carol singing and buying the tree to posting cards and building a snowman. Since 2006, 1st and 2nd Class come in two sizes to reflect the different costs of postage for standard and larger items. The 1st and 2nd images are repeated on Large 1st and 2nd Class stamps which reveal more detail on the wider format stamps. This year too, there are two sizes of the 1st and 2nd Class stamps, making seven different values in the set.
Royal Mail’s policy for Christmas stamps is to alternate religious and secular themes. However, to provide choice for customers, 1st and 2nd Class Madonna and Child stamps issued first last year have also been made available this year.
