This is a blog of my personal stamps and covers collection. I am an avid collector of postage stamps, miniature sheets, FDCs and covers addressed to me from across the world, an accumulator and hoarder of stamps. It is my attempt here to show you all of my collection in the posts that I'll add and update regularly. I hope to add more to the collection in the process, interact with you other collectors out there and share thoughts and information about anything and everything related.

Covers - Rwanda, Country #96
My first covers from Rwanda in Africa. The covers were sent from Kigali, the capital city of Rwanda on 7th March 2014. Received them quite soon just yesterday.
Rwanda is located in Central Africa, adjoining the ex-Belgian Congo, Tanganyika, Uganda and Burundi. It was established as an independent republic on July 1, 1962. With Burundi, it had been a UN trusteeship territory administered by Belgium.

Cover - Panama, Country #94
Well I had received this one from Panama a few weeks back but just missed uploading it here. Unfortunately the postmarks are not clear at all however I am glad they are there. And there is another one on the back in black which is clearer. Cover was sent from Chiriqui on 13th Jan 2014.
Formerly a department of the Republic of Colombia, Panama gained its independence in 1903. Dividing the
country at its center is the Panama Canal.

Covers - Tanzania, Country #93
My first covers from Tanzania. Both arrived the same day. The covers are perfect. Postmark shows that they were sent from Kigoma on the 25th of February 2014.
Before World War I, Tanganyika formed part of German East Africa. It was mandated to Britain after World War I and in 1946 became a trust territory under the United Nations. In 1935, stamps of the mandate were replaced by those used jointly by Kenya, Uganda and Tanganyika. On Dec. 9, 1961, Tanganyika became independent. On Dec. 9, 1962, it became a republic. April 26, 1964, it joined Zanzibar to form the United Republic of Tanganyika and Zanzibar later renamed Tanzania.

First Three Miniature Sheets - Post Independent India
I have now added these three absolute gems to my collection of Indian stamps. The first three miniature sheets of India which were long missing in my collection. About a year back, I had made reference to the gaps in my India collection. Then, it was two stamps and three miniature sheets to make it 100% complete
And the third miniature sheet - Oct 10, 1974 - UPU Centenary
All miniature sheets are now part of my collection. So its down to just the two stamps. 1. 1948 - Mahatma Gandhi - Rs 10 and 2. 1994 - Water birds - Re 1.
First miniature sheet was issued on Nov 14, 1973 - 'Indipex 73' India International Philatelic Exhibition. It contains 4 imperf. stamps similar to the individual perforate issues released on the same date. The imperf. stamps from the sheet were not valid individually.
Second miniature sheet - Apr 15, 1974 - Masks
